French Cooking Class – Fundraising while eating !
Last week end, French cuisine was at the centre in Bolivia Digna ! Our volunteer Hugo, a French chef, decided to share his passion with around 20 bolivians eager to discover some classics of the French cuisine.
Full ears, the apprendices chefs discovered and learned how to cook gratin dauphinois, olive tapenade, flammenkuchen and flan « pâtissier ». It is not very common in Bolivia to organise such kinds of events , to go the « strangers »’ houses and meet with new people. This is why the participants not only want to learn how to cook, but they are curious about the event, about meeting other Bolivians and foreigners too ! Furthermore, it’s not like they can eat French cuisine every day !
After a hard work in a very friendly atmosphere, everybody had the opportunity to taste and savor his homemade dishes. According to the way how people feasted and their reactions, the cooking class was indeed a complete success.
With volunteers from all around the world, cultural divesity is one of the wealth of Bolivia Digna. The Foundation expects to renew and continue this kind of events, in order to keep sharing this cultural diversity with locals.
